Celebrating Easter the Helen Doron Way

Spring break was full of exciting activities! One of our favorite events, the family egg hunt, took place for the third time.

The kids and their parents hunted for eggs together, did crafts, and tried out various Easter board games on this day.

We are so happy that so many families took part in this springtime fun!

Cambridge Assessment English Language Exam for Children

On March 28, we cheered on 21 of our students at our school in Újszeged.

Candidates could choose from three levels (Pre A1, A1, A2). The exam motivates children to learn a language and is also an excellent opportunity to prepare for future adult (intermediate and advanced) language exams, as the structure and procedure of the children’s exam are identical to those. Our examinees were children aged 8–14, who tackled the challenges with great courage and skill.

We eagerly await the results!

"It’s Always Debatable" Debate Competition at Our Language School!

Not only preschoolers and elementary school students, but our teenagers too learn English in a creative and playful way!

We held the “It’s Always Debatable” English-language debate competition for the third time, for participants under 14 and over 14.

We are very proud of them for speaking up in English so confidently at such a young age and for being able to argue decisively and reasonably for or against a given topic.

This winter couldn't go by without a carnival

In mid-February, we were finally able to dress up and have fun together at school!

It has become a tradition that during our Carnival week, groups can compete on our Facebook page, and the most creative costume wins a special prize.

Learning with us is a real experience; our students can participate in our self-organized programs every month.

Family Santa Claus Party

In addition to weekdays, sometimes Saturday mornings are also filled with life in the rooms, as was the case on December 6 at our family Santa Claus party.

Crafts, Christmas games, hot tea, mulled wine, good vibes—everything you need to get ready for Christmas.

Halloween is an unmissable event at our language school

During this themed week, students and teachers arrive at class in costume, do crafts, explore the enchanted “spooky room,” and then at the end of the session, they eat, drink, and admire each other’s terrifying costumes.

Now it's time to aim for the advanced level!

A few months ago, students at our school successfully passed the Cambridge Intermediate English exam.

The Helen Doron method is 40 years old!

Four decades have proven how effective the language learning strategy developed by Helen is, whom we had the opportunity to meet in person at this year’s conference!

Year after year, more and more students fall in love with and master the English language at Helen Doron English in Szeged.

We attended the annual conference of Helen Doron Hungary in Budaörs

These events have gathered more than 250 teachers and language school leaders, and we have been expanding our knowledge through lectures and workshops.

Not only do we learn a lot, but we also build the Szeged team.

Princes and Princesses Tea Party at the language school!

On 10 May the classrooms were once again filled with princes, princesses and their heroic parents.

As well as drinking tea and eating cake, we slayed the dragon in the lava room, played bingo, did arts and crafts and took photos in front of our magnificent castle.

No big secret, this is one of the teachers’ favourite events of the spring term!

In addition to the exciting English lessons we have every week, we try to organise 1-1 free themed event every month, where children, parents and teachers can build a real community.

It's Always Debatable national round – Budapest

The excitement continued in the next stage of the competition, where 17 talented students tested their reasoning skills. Logic, courage and fascinating debates characterised the day!

Standing up in front of so many people, in front of a foreign jury, is not easy, even as an adult!

We were hunting eggs in April!

For the second time, we held our very popular Egg Hunting family event.

Children and their parents hunted eggs, made crafts and tried out different Easter board games together on this day.

We are so happy that so many people participated in this spring fun!

It’s Always Debatable debate competition in Szeged!

Not only preschoolers and schoolchildren, but also teenagers learn English in a creative and playful way!

For the second time, we organised the It’s Always Debatable English Debate Competition for under-14s and over-14s.

We are very proud of them, so young, for being able to speak up in English and make a strong and clear argument for or against a topic.

The winners of the Szeged round, Márk and Imi, were also able to represent our city at the national final in Budapest, where they also did very well.

Cambridge Assessment English Exams at our learning centre

This spring, our learning centre again offered students the opportunity to take the Cambridge Assessment English children’s language exam, which was held at our New Szeged location.

At the end of March, 35 of our young students took the exam at three levels (Pre A1, A1, A2). Our students prepared for the test in Helen Doron classes with the help of our prepared teachers.
